Definition 

Explanation text is an explanation of a process of events or events in detail.  


Purpose 

So that readers can understand and know how an event can happen.


Structure of explanation text 

1. Social function : An Explanation text is used to describe how and why a certain phenomenon happens  

2. Generic Structure 

  • A Tittle that identifies the topic to be explained
  •  A General Statement
  • A sequenced Explanation ( a clear order about how and why )
  • Closing / Concluding Statement.
3. Linguistic Features 

  • focused on general group reather than specific  
  • Use a linking word like, in general, rather, for instance
  • Use action verbs like breaks, erupts
  • Use Present tense
  • Use Passive voice
  • Reference to people should not be given
  • Use of technical terms and language relevants to the subjects
Language Structure 
  1. Adverbia first, then, following, finally
  2. Cause-and-effect relationship (if –then, so, as a consequence, since, due to, because of, thanks to
  3. Passive sentences, in the tenses present
  4. Speech, word pressure, intonation, spelling, punctuation, and handwriting

Structure 
  • A general statement 
  • Sequenced explanations
  • Closing / Concluding Statement
Topic

  CONCLUSION Exposition text is a series of sentences that aim to explain an idea from one point of view to the reader. If you translate the word "exposition" itself, you will get the word exposition or description. So, this text is indeed used to describe a subject or topic. Exercise In Australia there are three levels of governments, the federal government, state governments and local governments. All of these levels of government are necessary. R. A. Kartini  Raden Adjeng Kartini opened the first Indonesian primary school for native girls that did not discriminate based on social standing in 1903. She corresponded with Dutch colonial officials to further the cause of Javanese women's emancipation up until her death, on September 17, 1904, in Rembang Regency, Java. In 1911, her letters were published. Early Years Kartini was born to a noble family on April 21, 1879, in the village of Mayong, Java, Indonesia. Kartini's mother, Ngasirah, was the daughter of a religious scholar. Her father, Sosroningrat, was a Javanese aristocrat working for the Dutch colonial government. This afforded Kartini the opportunity to go to a Dutch school, at the age of 6. The school opened her eyes to Western ideals. During this time, Kartini also took sewing lessons from another regent's wife, Mrs. Marie Ovink-Soer. Ovink-Soer imparted her feminist views to Kartini, and was therefore instrumental in planting the seed for Kartini's lat...
