Definition 

Descriptive text is a text that explains or describes people, animals or an object in terms of its shape, characteristics, number and so on.


Purpose

 The purpose of descriptive text is to explain, describe, or reveal a person or thing

Candi Borobudur

Borobudur is one of historical buildings in Indonesia. 

It is considered to be the world’s largest Buddhist temple for its size (15129 m2) and height (34.5m). 

It is located in Magelang, Central Java. Not only it became a well known tourism destination to a lot of travelers around the world, Borobudur Temple is also included in UNESCO list of world heritage site.

There is a dome located on the top center of the temple and is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues, each seated inside a perforated stupa. It is said that, if you place your hand into the stupa through one of its hole and you can touch the Buddha statue, you will be able to make one of your dream come true.

R. A. Kartini  Raden Adjeng Kartini opened the first Indonesian primary school for native girls that did not discriminate based on social standing in 1903. She corresponded with Dutch colonial officials to further the cause of Javanese women's emancipation up until her death, on September 17, 1904, in Rembang Regency, Java. In 1911, her letters were published. Early Years Kartini was born to a noble family on April 21, 1879, in the village of Mayong, Java, Indonesia. Kartini's mother, Ngasirah, was the daughter of a religious scholar. Her father, Sosroningrat, was a Javanese aristocrat working for the Dutch colonial government. This afforded Kartini the opportunity to go to a Dutch school, at the age of 6. The school opened her eyes to Western ideals. During this time, Kartini also took sewing lessons from another regent's wife, Mrs. Marie Ovink-Soer. Ovink-Soer imparted her feminist views to Kartini, and was therefore instrumental in planting the seed for Kartini's lat...
